Obituary of Robert C. Wolff

Robert Christopher Wolff passed away on February 3, 2021, at the age of 62, after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by his family at home. He is survived by his wife, Diane L. Wolff, of whom he was married for 40 beautiful years. He also leaves behind his four sons: Vincent; Thomas and wife, Michelle, and their children, Trevor, Ian and Della; Robert Jr.; and Keith. Bob was born on March 10, 1958 in Elizabeth, NJ, to father Fred Wolff (d 2003), and to mother Roselyn Bohnenberger. Bob married his best friend, Diane, on May 4, 1980. As their family expanded, they relocated to Blairstown, NJ, where they continued to grow and support their family. Bob proudly worked for 40 years at L & Z tool & Engineering, Inc. in Watchung, NJ, as an Engineer, where "Bobby" worked with many colleagues he considered his family. Even after being diagnosed with cancer in 2018, he remained dedicated to his work. Bob was a man of many skills – too many to list – and prided himself on his ability to fix or build just about anything. Bob enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren as he worked on his various (and numerous) projects, eager to share his vast knowledge. Bob was a lover of the outdoors, a leader of the local Boy Scout Troop 140 for many years, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Bob enjoyed hiking, camping, kayaking, traveling, and studying astronomy with his family every chance he could. He was also a lover of history, baking, and complex puzzles, as well as studying aviation and flying planes – a passion he shared with his father, Fred. He was always proud of his family farm, which he built and maintained for many years, but also enjoyed relaxing by a fire, enjoying the fruits of his hard labor. Bob is also survived by his siblings Jeanne Gingles and husband Tom (d 2019), Glenn Wolff and wife Wendy Sue, Wendy Wolff, and Scott Wolff and wife Jeanette, his loving in-laws, Sandy Swinick and husband John, and Nicholas DellaVentura and wife Nancy, and his many loved nieces and nephews. Bob was a strong man, a devoted husband, proud father and a loving grandfather. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by all those whose lives he touched. A ceremony has been scheduled at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Blairstown, NJ, on February 10, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. A link will be available for virtual attendance. A celebration of Bob's life will also be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Bob's name to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at https://www.pancan.org/honormemorial-gifts/.
