Irene T. Gleckler, 92, of Blairstown, NJ, entered into eternal rest on December 20, 2020 due to the Corona Virus. She was born and raised in Mt. Tabor, NJ. "Renee" was a graduate of Rockaway High School where she was the Cheerleader Captain of her squad. After graduating high school, Irene was employed at the telephone company as a switchboard operator alongside some of her sisters and friends. She went on to marry her high school sweetheart, Albert "Butch" Gleckler, who predeceased her in 2000, after 49 years of marriage. Upon moving to Rockaway, Irene became the Mother of five loving children. She was a homemaker, dedicating her life to raising her family. In 1976, having raised her three older children, the Gleckler family moved to Blairstown, NJ. Irene went on to pursue her dream and became the proud owner of Heritage Florist. After 13 years of running a successful business, she retired to Mount Bethel, PA. Irene enjoyed caring for her grandchildren, gardening and days spent sitting in her sunroom, watching the many birds that frequented her bird feeders. Irene was the last surviving "Morris Girl" of the Morris Family. She was predeceased by her sisters, Margaret Smith, Catherine Pierson, Agnes Zanone, Theresa Ferrone, Florence Marcello and her brothers Joseph and Thomas Morris. Irene was also predeceased by her daughter, Sharon A. Bannon, and grandson, Edward P. Gleckler, IV. Irene is survived by her children, Edward P. Gleckler, III of Mt. Bethel, PA, Jeanne Leahy of Blairstown, NJ, Theresa Peck (Peter) of Columbia, NJ and Gordon Morris of Los Angeles, CA. She is survived by her nine grandchildren, Melissa, Amy, Shawn, Elizabeth, Caitlin, Daniel, Kyle, Brenden and Killian, four great grandchildren, Sloan, Elliot, River and Ayumi, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. On Friday, August 20, 2021, a funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. at St. Jude Church, 7 Eisenhower Road, Columbia, NJ. Inturment will immediately follow at Cedar Ridge Cemetery, Blairstown, NJ.
