Obituary of Mary T. Hilbert

Mary Theresa "Terry" Hilbert, 86, of Blairstown, NJ, was peacefully called home by her Lord and Savior on July 18, 2020. She is survived by son John Graham Hilbert (Kim Tobin-Hilbert) of Rossville, TN; daughters Karen Hilbert (Patti Dugun) of South Amboy, NJ; Sharon Pivnick (Barry Pivnick) of Boynton Beach, Fl; sisters-in-law Gail H. Gannon of Monmouth Beach, NJ; Barbara Birger of Union, NJ; grandchildren John Hilbert (Kate Jutras-Hilbert); Colten Hilbert (Amanda Hilbert); Candice Hilbert-Zeni (Steve Zeni); Andrew Levinson; Daniel Levinson; great-grandchildren Colten and Macie Hilbert; Hazel and Pearl Hilbert; Graham and Grady Zeni. She was preceded in death by her doting husband of 67 years, John H. "Jack" Hilbert and dear brother John Birger and nephew Marc Birger. Born in Hillside, NJ on January 25, 1934 to the late Jennie and John Birger. Residents of East Keansburg, NJ, Terry graduated from Leonardo High School. Married in 1952, Terry and Jack resided in Leonardo, NJ where Terry enjoyed homemaking and raising a family. Later, working for Parker and Speral Accounting Firm, active in the Leonardo Baptist Church and New Monmouth Baptist Church, and member of the Eastern Star of Atlantic Highlands, Terry enjoyed organizing get-togethers and cooking for family & friends. An amazing chef, she cooked with love. Retirement years in Blairstown, NJ on the Hilbert's beloved homestead deemed The Alpha + Omega were especially happy. Becoming active with Evangelical Free Church in Blairstown, Terry and Jack cherished their church family and the special friendships that flourished with Joan & Al Bickhart, Christine & Eric Travarro, Karen & Manny Lacotta. Memorial Services to be held at a later date. With a special nod to Jack Hilbert's US Army 82nd Airborne days (1953-1955), the family requests memorial contributions be sent in memory of Terry Hilbert to Operation Jersey Cares, P.O. Box 551, Somerville, NJ 08876.
