Obituary of Eugene F. Lemoncelli
Eugene F Lemoncelli, 82 years of age, of Blairstown New Jersey passed away peacefully on September 6th surrounded by his loving family. Eugene was born in Scranton, PA on February 12th, 1937, the son of the late Valentino Lemoncelli and Helen Pompey (Toth) and stepfather Stephen Toth. Eugene graduated from Dover High School, Class of 1954. He played football and was part of the undefeated team. He was also involved in discus throwing.
Following graduation, he served with the U.S. Marine Corps from 1954 to 1957. After serving, he married his highschool sweetheart, Beatrice Lemoncelli (nee Loeffler), and they settled in Dover, New Jersey. In 1972 they moved to Blairstown, New Jersey with their three children, Leanne, Scott, and Craig. Eugene worked for A&P Supermarket for 34 years, and in management for 27 years of those years, retiring in 1991. He was part owner of Hilltop Market in Effort, PA for 7 years. As a manager he always went the extra mile to service his customers. Eugene and Beatrice celebrated 61 years of marriage this past June. He was a previous director of the Dover Area Jaycees and coached Little League in Succasunna, New Jersey. He thoroughly enjoyed going antiquing and loved antique cars. Traveling was a big part of Eugene's life along with being with friends and family. He was always listening to and singing along with Engelbert Humperdinck and Pavarotti.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his stepbrother Steve Toth. Surviving in addition to his wife Beatrice, are his children: daughter, Leanne Remia and husband Edward of Frelinghuysen NJ, son Craig Lemoncelli and wife Nikki of Lords Valley PA, son, Scott Lemoncelli of Blairstown NJ and granddaughters Lily Lemoncelli and Ava Lemoncelli. Sisters Shirley Milburn and husband William of Goose Creek SC, Sharon Bone of Flanders NJ. Brother in laws Duane Loeffler and wife Arlene of Seneca SC, Barry Loeffler of East Stroudsburg PA, Robert Miller of Dover NJ, Sister in law Violet Toth of Daytona Beach FLA. Half brother Val Lemoncelli and wife Serena of Michigan and many nieces and nephews.
A period of visitation will occur from 11 AM – 1 PM, Saturday, September 14, 2019____ at Newbakers Funeral Home, located on 200 Rt 94 Blairstown NJ, with services to follow at 1PM.
