Obituary of Robert Smith
Robert "Bob" Leroy Smith, born on January 4, 1934, went to be with the Lord on March 22, 2018, at the age of 84.
Bob is survived by his wife of 40 years, Marilyn (Ryker) Smith, of Beverly Hills, Florida; his children Andrew R. Smith and wife Mary, of Blairstown, NJ; Thomas L. Smith and wife Molly, of Highlands Ranch, CO; Darryl Concilio and wife Angela, of Berkeley Springs, WV; and Kathleen Concilio, of Beverly Hills, FL. Along with his immediate family, Bob is survived by nephew Michael King; niece Debra Di Francesco and husband Rocco; grandchildren Richard Smith, Ashley Smith and fiancé David, Alexis Smith, Megan Smith, Robyn Smith, Toby Smith, Daniel Smith, Lydia Smith, Elizabeth Teter, Darren Concilio, Matthew Concilio, Jason Nash, Donald Nash, Katelyn Miller and fiancé Michael, Anthony Miller, and Steven Miller; and six great-grandchildren. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Josephine Smith, brother James Smith, sister Betty Jo King, niece Bonnie Smith, and nephew Jimmy Smith.
Bob was a graduating member of Washington High School, class of 1952. He also celebrated his love for big band and marching music as a member of the Hackettstown Community Band and the Hackettstown Drum and Bugle Corp. Mr. Smith also volunteered with the Blairstown Ambulance Corp. At the time of his death, Mr. Smith was a Master Mason of the 33rd degree, in good standing with the Blairstown Masonic Lodge #165, where he had been a brother for over 50 years. Mr. Smith regularly attended Dunnellon Presbyterian Church in Dunnellon, Florida, where he had been a Deacon. The former owner of K & S Quality Market, Inc., in Blairstown, NJ, spent most of his life as a butcher, and enjoyed travelling the country as a competitive trap shooter with the ATA in his free time. Mr. Smith was also a former president of the Pocono Slate Belt Shooting Association, as well as founding the ATA program at Robinson Ranch in Dunnellon, FL. He was an avid hunter with the Farmer's Game Preserve in Blairstown, NJ.
Viewing for Mr. Smith will be held at Newbaker Funeral Home 200 Route 94, Blairstown, NJ, Use Columbia for GPS) on Thursday, March 29, 7:00 – 9:00 pm with a Masonic Service at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 30, at 11:00 am, at Newbaker Funeral Home, followed by interment at Cedar Ridge Cemetery, in Blairstown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dunnellon Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 20641 Chestnut Street, Dunnellon, Florida, 34431.
