Please share a memory of Luzie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Luzie Lang, a resident of Blairstown, NJ for 33 years, passed away at her home on September 15, 2022.  Luzie was born in Wehden, Germany on November 16, 1937 to Karl and Clara née Gӧtten Horstmann, and she moved to New York in 1956, where she married and began a family of her own.  Though Luzie had her hands full with running a household and working various jobs, it was the time she set aside to help those in need that brought her the greatest joy.  She enjoyed singing in the church choir, doing puzzles, working in the yard, exercising, getting great deals at garage sales, and, most of all, spending time with friends and family as everybody’s favorite Oma.

Luzie is survived by her son, Robert Werner Lang and wife, Ellen; her daughter, Ingrid Anne Lang Fountaine and husband, Richard Sr.; a granddaughter, Katherine; five grandsons, Jason, Richard Jr., Matthew, Sean, and Steven and wife, Caitlyn; and two great grandchildren, Carter Alan and Audrey Elaine. She is also survived by her sisters, Alma Schlichte, Irma Schmitz, Klara Sancken, and brother, Hinni Horstmann. Luzie was predeceased by her husband Gerhard Werner Lang in 2006.

A memorial service will be held on October 1, 11:30 AM at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd on 168 NJ-94, Blairstown, NJ. A memorial visitation period will be held prior from 10-11:30 AM at Good Shepherd.

In lieu of flowers, Luzie asked that a donation be made to her Church, ‘Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd’.

Luzie has been entrusted to care of Newbaker Funeral Home, 200 Route 94, Blairstown, NJ 07825.
