Obituary of Wilberta L Houck
Wilberta “Bert” Houck, 78, of Columbia, NJ passed away peacefully at St Luke’s Hospital in Phillipsburg, NJ on July 23, 2022.
Wilberta was born on July 31, 1943, to Harry and Lillian (Ehrhardt) Pursell in Easton, PA. She moved to New Jersey and attended Belvidere High School where she met the love of her life, Earl Houck. The two were married in 1962 and shared 50 happy years together before Earl’s passing in 2013.
Wilberta loved her family very much. She is survived by her daughter, Renée Welch and her husband Patrick, granddaughter D’Arcy Welch, two sisters-in-law, Sarah Pursell and Mary Shipps, two brothers-in-law, George and Dale Houck, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Earl, two brothers, Harry and Paul Pursell, and a sister, Virginia Eck.
Wilberta enjoyed traveling with her family to New York City, the NJ shore, Florida, and many other destinations.
No services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements are entrusted to Newbaker Funeral Home, 200 Rt 94, Blairstown, NJ.
