Type Obit Here Janet Elaine Carducci, 73, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on December 21, 2020, after a long battle with cancer. She was born May 30, 1947, to William Brandon and Josephine (Fava) Brandon, the third of four children. Her childhood home was built by her father on the outskirts of Dover, N.J. Janet graduated from Dover High School in 1965. She was a talented dancer and traveled the country in a touring dance troupe right out of high school. Later that year, she was selected to join the Radio City Rockettes. She fondly remembered her experiences on the stage at Radio City Music Hall and the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. After a few years, she retired from show business to start a family and never regretted that decision. She was the beloved and devoted wife of Martin Carducci for 52 years. They moved from Dover to a quiet country town of Blairstown, N.J., to raise five children. Despite numerous challenges, Janet was the rock of the family. It was her nature to put the needs of others before her own, and she did so silently and without complaint. She assumed many burdens, yet was always the "first responder" of the family, running towards an emergency that would arise, rather than avoiding it. When her nest was finally empty, she assumed the role of a doting grandmother and absolutely adored spending as much time with her grandchildren as she could. Janet loved to spend hours in her garden, and her meticulous tending brought forth a beautiful and bountiful display every summer. She gently departs the mortal coil, unshackled by the burdens she assumed, but leaving a lasting legacy of caring and compassion as guidance. She will be with us always. She was predeceased by her parents; her brother, George Brandon; her sister-in-law Sharon Brandon; and nephew, Mark Brandon. She is survived by her husband, Martin; daughter, Karen Austro (Ben Austro); sons, Martin (Kerri Carducci), Paul (Leilani Carducci), Michael, and Peter (Keri Carducci); four grandchildren, Evan Eldemachi, Brandon Austro, Indigo Carducci, and Leah Austro; brothers, Bill and Bob Brandon (Carole Brandon); and three nephews and two nieces.
